Lady Tigers sweep twin bill; Lady Rams romp to cap off 12-0 N-O championship season

Improving to 10-1 in the league and 12-1 overall, Lyndonville swept to a pair of Genesee Region softball victories this afternoon at Byron-Bergen.

Lyndonville first defeated Byron-Bergen 10-3 and then nipped Attica 6-5.

A big five run first inning scoring burst which featured a two-run single by Alecia Hinkson and singles by Gracie Johnson and winning pitcher Stacy Buckland sparked Lyndonville past Byron-Bergen.

The Lady Tigers also got an RBI single by Chloe Stinson in the fifth inning and a run producing double by Anna Lewis in the sixth before capping off the win with three tallies in the seventh as Megan Krisher, Stinson and Johnson all had doubles.

Johnson finished with three hits s Lewis and Stinson both had two.

Lyndonville then rallied from a 3-1 deficit to edge past Attica by scoring four times in the fifth on a two-run double by Natalie Ostrowski and singles by Stinson and Cassie Boyce, and once in the sixth on a hit batter, a key bunt by Buckland and an error.

Attica did score twice in the seventh and still had the bases loaded before Lyndonville got the final out on a popup to Lorelei Dillenbeck at shortstop.

In another G-R game, Oakfield-Alabama downed Holley 9-2.

Roy-Hart 23, Wilson 2
Roy-Hart completed a second straight 12-0 Niagara-Orleans League softball championship season by defeating Wilson 23-2 on a barrage of 27 hits.

Maddie Fry went 6 for 6 at the plate for the Lady Rams including two triples and a double.  Reanna Perkins and Lexie Lovewell both banged out 5 hits and winning pitcher Mallory Steiner 3. Perkins, who drove in a total of seven runs, had two home runs.

In the circle, Steiner struck out 9.

In other N-O make-up games, Akron (5-3) defeated Barker 13-7, Wilson (7-4) downed Newfane  8-2 and Newfane (1-9)  nipped Barker (1-11) 10-9.
