Top seeded Lyndonville will host No. 3 Bolivar-Richburg in the Section V Class C2 softball championship game at 4:30 p.m. Monday.

This marks the seventh time in the last eight seasons that Lyndonville has advanced to the finals. Previously the Lady Tigers captured the sectional crown in both 2013 and 2019.

Lyndonville, which brings a school record 17-1 record into the title contest, advanced by downing No. 16 Red Creek 22-3 in the pre quarters, No. 8 Byron-Bergen 17-0 in the quarterfinals and No. 5 York 5-1 in the semifinals.

Bolivar-Richburg, which is 15-3, bested No. 14 Pavilion 14-0 in the pre quarters, No. 6 Cal-Mum 13-1 in the quarterfinals and  No. 2 Dundee/Bradford 12-3 in the semifinals.

The accent is certainly on youth for Lyndonville whose starting nine includes only one senior, catcher Chloe Stinson.  The Lady Tigers lineup has also had sophomore Haley Shaffer at pitcher, junior Gracie Johnson at first base, sophomore Brianna Krisher at second, sophomore Lorelei Dillenbeck at shortstop and junior Ella Lewis at third with junior Brynn Howell, eighth grader Addison Dillenbeck and seventh grader Brooke Robinson in the outfield.

N-O Baseball

Defending champion Medina, which has already clinched at least a share of the Niagara-Orleans League title, will look to lock up the crown outright with a win at Wilson (5-5) on Monday.

The Mustangs, now at 10-0 in the league and 11-0 overall, will then close out the N-O campaign by hosting the Lakemen on Tuesday.

Monday’s other N-O games will have runner-up Roy-Hart (7-2) hosting Albion (3-7) and Akron (6-3) hosting Newfane (4-6).

N-O Softball

Monday’s N-O softball match ups will have Medina (5-4) at Akron (10-0) and Roy-Hart (6-3) at Wilson (6-3). Akron has already locked up the N-O title.
