Lady Tigers score narrow victory; Lady Rams win Roy-Hart Tournament opener

Improving to 2-0 on the young season, Lyndonville edged past visiting Rochester Academy Charter 38-36 this evening in a non league girls basketball game.

Two free throws and a basket by Alecia Hinkson and a pair of free throws by Anna Lewis down the stretch helped the Lady Tigers lock up the victory.

Lewis scored 8 of her game high 16 points in the final stanza. Hinkson finished with a total of 11 and Savannah Poler 6.

Lyndonville held narrow leads of 10-7 after one period 19-16 at the half and 26-22 at the three-quarter mark.

The Lady Tigers next face Holley in the championship game of the Kendall Tournament at 4 p.m. Saturday.

Roy-Hart 53, Holland 39
Featuring a balanced attack, the host Lady Rams defeated Holland 53-39 in the opening round of the Roy-Hart Tournament.

Ashley Hill scored 11, Maddie Fry and Meghan Washington 10, Mallory Steiner and Shelby Wolf 8 and Lexie Lovewell 6 to spark Roy-Hart which led 20-13 at the half.

Roy-Hart will next face Oakfield-Alabama in the championship game at 3:30 p.m. Saturday. Oakfield-Alabama downed Tonawanda 48-16 in the other semifinal contest.

Elba 73, Albion 28
Building up a commanding 36-15 half-time advantage, Elba went on to defeat visiting Albion 73-28 in a non league game.

Brynn Walczak scored 22, Maddie Muehlig 14 and Leah Bezon 11 to lead the way for Elba which was up 49-22 after three quarters.

Lexi Wolck led Albion with 7.

Because of a scheduling error by the host school the Medina at Tapestry non league was was postponed.
