Lady Tigers romp in G-R softball opener
Building up a 9-0 lead in the first two innings, Lyndonville went on to blank host Wheatland-Chili 16-0 this afternoon in the Lady Tigers Genesee Region League softball season opener.
Lorelei Dillenbeck had 4 hits, including a home run, Stacy Buckland 3 and Alecia Hinkson 2, including a double with 3 RBIs to lead the attack for Lyndonville which scored three quick runs in the first inning and six more in the second.
Buckland, Gracie Johnson and Dillenbeck shared the pitching duties.
Elba 12, Kendall 11
Elba pushed across a run in the bottom of the seventh inning on a fielders choice play off the bat of Lauryn Engle to nip visiting Kendall 12-11.
Kendall had tied the game at 11-11 in the top of the seventh on a hit by Madison Shonitsky.
Shonitsky and Brittney Markle both had 4 hits on the day for Kendall and Sara Mattle 2. In the circle, Mattle registered 8 strikeouts.
Byron-Bergen 20, Holley 8
Sarah Klatt had 4 hits, Halee Passarell 3, including a two-run home run, and Jocelyn Chilton 2 for Holley in the 20-8 loss to Byron-Bergen. Chilton also threw out two runners at second from her catchers position.
Roy-Hart 11, West Seneca East 4
Mallory Steiner had 3 hits, including a double and triple, Maddie Fry 3 including a triple, and Jamie Bower 2, including a double with four RBIs, to lead the Roy-Hart offense.
Bower had a two-run single to key a three run first inning and a two-run double to highlight a five run sixth frame.
Sam Choate picked up the win in the circle striking out 3.
Kenmore West 11, Albion 0
Leading by a narrow 2-0 margin, Kenmore West erupted for seven runs in the fifth inning to key an 11-0 non league win over visiting Albion.
Lexi Wolck, Alexis Bentley and Kenzi Hapeman each had a hit for Albion.
