Lady Tigers romp in G-R softball opener

Taking charge with a huge second inning scoring explosion, Lyndonville went on to defeat visiting Wheatland-Chili 22-0 this afternoon in a season opening Genesee Region League softball game.

Lyndonville took a quick 2-0 lead in the first inning on a single by Anna Lewis and a double by Cassie Boyce.

The Lady Tigers then broke the contest wide open by erupting for 17 runs on 13 hits in the second inning. Doubles by Alecia Hinkson, Natalie Ostrowski and Ella Lewis highlighted that scoring burst.

Anna Lewis finished with a total of 4 hits as Ostrowski and Ella Lewis both had 3 and Miranda Lembcke, Chloe Stinson, Gracie Johnson and Hinkson 2.

Ella Lewis had 4 RBIs and Ostrowski and Anna Lewis 3.

Lorelei Dillenbeck picked up the shutout win in the circle allowing only 2 hits and striking out 3.

Lyndonville next hosts Elba at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Roy-Hart, Wilson win N-O openers

Roy-Hart defeated Barker and Wilson bested Newfane 21-2 in Niagara-Orleans League openers. The Albion at Akron contest was postponed until Tuesday.

Maddie Fry, Kayla Brown, Maddy Glena and Ashley Hill each had 3 hits and Jayden Townsend 2, including a home run, to lead the way for Roy-Hart.

Madelyn Seeley had 3 doubles and 5 RBIs for Wilson as Julia Faery and Isabella Schultz added doubles. In the circle, Anna Frerichs did not allow a hit and struck out 8.

Medina faces Cleve Hill in scrimmage

Medina bested visiting Cleve Hill 9-5 in a scrimmage as Alisha Scroger, Lacey Kenward and Brandi Guild each had 2 hits and Hannah Hamilton a double.
