Lady Tigers roll past Lady Lancers; Mustangs, Purple Eagles and Lady Rams post N-O wins
Gaining a bit of revenge for a loss in last year’s sectional final, Lyndonville romped past visiting Elba 16-1 this afternoon in a Genesee Region League softball game.
Lyndonville pitcher Stacy Buckland limited Elba to only 4 hits and struck out 4.
Anna Lewis, Cassie Boyce, Natalie Ostrowski, Gracie Johnson and Alecia Hinkson each had 2 hits to lead the Lyndonville offense. Lewis drove in 3 runs and Ostrowski 2 as Johnson banged out a triple and Boyce a double.
The Lady Tigers scored 3 quick runs in the first inning and then added 2 in the second, 5 in the third and 6 in the fourth.
Lyndonville is now 2-0 in the league.
Albion 13, Newfane 1
Snapping a brief two game season opening losing streak, Albion bested host Newfane 13-1 in a Niagara-Orleans League game.
Natalie DiCureia had 4 hits including 3 triples and 3 RBIs to lead the Albion attack as Lexi Wolck, Brylie Hapeman and Janae Doty each had a pair of hits.
Albion broke the game open with 6 runs in the fourth frame which included a triple by DiCureia.
Ella Knaak earned the win in the circle for the Purple Eagles striking out 4.
Albion is now 1-2 and Newfane 0-3.
Medina 25, Barker 1
A huge 13 run first inning ignited Medina to a 25-1 N-O win at Barker.
Ryenn Oliver had a grand slam home run, Morgan Allis and Abby Neuman triples and Cora Payne a double in the decisive opening frame. Allis had a pair of triples on the day and Payne one.
Ashlee Howell had 5 hits and Alisha Scroger 4 for the Mustangs.
Medina is now 2-0 and Barker 1-2.
Roy-Hart 28, Wilson 3
Maddy Glena and Kayla Brown both had 5 hits, Maddie Fry and Jamie Bower 3 and Brianna Perkins a three-run single to highlight the Roy-Hart offense in a 28-3 N-O win at Wilson.
Roy-Hart is now 3-0 and Wilson 1-1.
