Lady Tigers rally for victory; Lady Hawks win

Coming from way back,, Lyndonville/Medina rallied from an early three goal deficit to defeat Attica 4-3 this evening in a season opening Genesee Region League girls soccer game at Vets Park.

Attica erupted for three quick goals in the first 20 minutes but Lyndonville/Medina came battling back to cut the deficit to 3-2 by halftime on goals by Ella Lewis and Kaylee Nesbitt.

The Lady Tigers then completed the big comeback in the second half as Nesbitt scored the tying goal and Lewis followed up with the game winner.

“I’m really proud of the girls. They really came on strong beginning late in the first half,” said Lyndonville/Medina Coach Paul Zeppetella. “They really stepped up.”

Holley 4, Notre Dame 1

Allison Lyndacker, Samantha Bates, Kayleigh Neale and Tatum Gagne took turns scoring the goals as Holley opened the G-R season with a 4-1 win over visiting Notre Dame.  Neale also had two assists.

Emma Brady made 6 saves in goal for the Lady Hawks.
