Lady Tigers prep for early G-R soccer opener

Anchored by a good nucleus of returnees the Lyndonville/Medina girls varsity soccer team is prepping for the September 1 Genesee Region League opener at Attica.
The home opener is slated for September 7 against Pembroke.
The Lady Tigers veteran group includes seniors Ella Lewis (Forward), Lily Carpenter (Forward/Defender), Aasiya Huzair (Midfield), Peyton McDonald (Forward/Midfield) and Megan Zakes (Goalie) along with juniors Maddy Satkowski (Midfield) and Annabelle Follman (Forward/Midfield) and sophomore Elizabeth Whipple (Forward).
Lewis earned G-R All-Star honors last year scoring 14 goals and Carpenter received Honorable Mention.
“We’re looking forward to the season. I believe we’ll do very well,” said Coach Paul Zeppetella. “We had a lot of players play over the summer and we’re setting out goals high.”
The Lady Tigers will play four home games at Lyndonville and four at Medina.

October: 1 – at Notre Dame, 4:30 p.m.; 2 – Eastridge, 10 a.m.; 5 – at Alexander, 4:30 p.m.; 7 – at Kendall, 7 p.m.; 9 – at Eastridge, 11 a.m.; 13 – Attica, 5 p.m.
