Lady Tigers post win over Mustangs

Taking charge with a marathon nine run second inning, Lyndonville went on to defeat visiting Medina 18-3 this afternoon in the non league season opening softball game for both teams.

Lyndonville took the lead for good by scoring three quick runs in the first inning on a two-run triple by Hailey Wetherbee and an RBI double by Morgan Hungerford.

The Lady Tigers then broke the contest wide open by erupting for nine runs in the second inning as winning pitcher Maddy Boyle and Rebekah Hoffee both had a single and double and Kaitlyn Albone a double.

Boyle, Hoffee and Albone each finished with three hits and Hungerford two. Boyle and Albone both had triples on the day.

In the circle, Boyle allowed five hits and struck out 11.
