Lady Tigers nip Irish to avenge lone loss

Avenging their only loss to date, Lyndonville edged past host Notre Dame 8-7 this afternoon in a Genesee Region League softball game.

A two-run triple by Alecia Hinksno in the sixth inning provided the margin of victory for Lyndonville which lost to Notre Dame 21-8 early in the season.

Earlier in the game, the Lady Tigers scored twice in the fourth inning as Hinkson doubled and Lorelei Dillenbeck singled and then three times in the fifth on a two-run single by Hinkson and a fielders choice play off the bat of Chloe Stinson.

Stacy Buckland picked up the win in relief in the circle allowing only two runs over the final four innings.

Lyndonville, which is now 8-1 in the league and 10-1 overall, will next face Byron-Bergen and Attica in a doubleheader on Saturday at Bergen beginning at 1 p.m. Then on Sunday the Lady Tigers will host Alexander at 2 p.m.

In other G-R action, Alexander blanked Holley 18-0 and Elba defeated Kendall 11-6.

Roy-Hart 18, Barker 1
Defending champion Roy-Hart improved to 11-0 in Niagara-Orleans League competition with an 18-1 win over Barker.

Reanna Perkins had 4 hits, including a home run and 4 RBIs, and Jayden Townsend 3 hits to lead the Lady Rams attack.

Sam Choate picked up the win in the circle registering 8 strikeouts.

Roy-Hart will close out the N-O season at Wilson on Saturday at 2 p.m.

Wilson 17, Albion 8
Wilson bested Albion 17-8 to go to 6-3 in N-O action as Emilee Muoio banged out a double and triple.

Brylie Hapeman had 3 hits and Aly Knaak 2 for Albion which slips to 3-8.

Akron 7, Newfane 2
Akron (5-3) downed Newfane (0-8) 7-2 as Darion Jonathan banged out a pair of triples and Jenelle Kieffer struck out 11 in the circle.
