Lady Tigers, Lady Rams post diamond wins
Lyndonville banged out 15 hits in route to posting a 16-6 victory over host Alexander in a Genesee Region League softball game this afternoon.
Anna Lewis had 3 hits, including a triple, for the Lady Tigers which also got doubles from Makenzie Muck, Cassie Boyce and winning pitcher Stacy Buckland.
Lyndonville, which improves to 4-1 in the league and 4-2 overall, broke the game open by erupting for 8 runs on 6 hits in the fourth inning.
Roy-Hart 26, Barker 0
Maddie Fry banged out 5 hits, Kayla Brown 4, Maddy Glena and Sam Choate 3 and Brianna Brewer 2 to lead the attack for Roy-Hart which improves to 4-1 in Niagara-Orleans League action with a 26-0 win over Barker (0-5).
Brown’s hits included a triple and home run with a total of 8 RBIs while Glena had 2 doubles and 3 RBIs, Choate a triple and 3 RBIs and Brewer 2 doubles.
Akron 15, Albion 2
Scoring in every inning defending champion Akron posted a 15-2 win over visiting Albion in another N-O contest.
Mattie Klein hurled a 3 hitter with 9 strikeouts for Akron which scored in every inning. She also helped herself at the plate banging out 3 hits and driving in 5 runs.
Catherine Wolck had a home run for Albion.
Akron is now 4-0 and Albion 1-5 in N-O action.
Newfane 10 Wilson 1
Newfane bested rival Wilson 10-1 as Cassidy Geise pitched a 4 hitter with 5 strikeouts.
Olivia Littman had 4 hits, including a home run, Teagan Volpe 3 hits, including a triple, and Beth Kropf 2 hits, including a double, to lead the attack for Newfane.
Alex Seeley had 2 singles and Jen Darlak a double for Wilson.
Newfane maintains a share of first place at 4-0 while Wilson slips to 1-4.
