Lady Tigers hand Lady Bees first loss
Lyndonville handed Byron-Bergen its first loss as the Lady Tigers nipped the host Lady Bees 43-40 in a Genesee Region League basketball game this evening.
Trailing 23-20 at the half, Lyndonville used a 13-4 third period scoring edge to key the win.
Shelby Boring hit two threes, Haley Shaffer one and Ashlee Stephens added a pair of baskets in the period as the Lady Tigers rallied into a 33-27 advantage at the three-quarter mark.
Stephens then had 5 points, Lorelei Dillenbeck 3 and Addison Dillenbeck 2 in the final stanza to help the Lady Tigers lock up the narrow win.
Lorelei Dillenbeck finished with 15, Stephens 11, Boring 8, Addison Dillenbeck 6 and Shaffer 3. Lorelei Dillenbeck scored 7 in the opening period, including a 3 at the buzzer, to keep Lyndonville within three at 12-9. Stephens also grabbed off 11 rebounds and Lorelei Dillenbeck 6.
Ava Wagoner had 12 and Kendall Phillips 11 for Byron-Bergen.
Lyndonville is now 5-2 and Byron-Bergen 3-1.
In another G-R contest Oakfield-Alabama defeated Kendall 42-14.
