Lady Tigers edge Lady Rams in overtime

Lyndonville outlasted host Roy-Hart 51-45 in overtime in a non league girls basketball game this evening.
Lyndonville sent the game into overtime as a free throw by Addison Dillenbeck with 10 seconds remaining knotted the score at 39-39.
The Lady Tigers then used some sharp, 10 of 14, free throw shooting in the four minute overtime period to claim the win. Dillenbeck had six free throws, Isabella Groves two free throws and a basket and Alexa Robinson two free throws in the overtime.
Roy-Hart’s Kylie McOmber and Lyndonville’s Hannah Fox battle for a rebound.
Dillenbeck, who hit the 1,000 point career milestone with a basket in the fourth quarter, finished with a game high 36 points. Groves added 7, Hannah Fox 5 and Robinson 3.
Adella Dukes scored 14, Kaitlin Mettler 12, Courtney Aquilina 10, Millie Owens 7 and Kylie McOmber 2 for Roy-Hart.
Lyndonville grabbed a 14-8 first quarter lead as Dillenbeck scored 9, including a three.
The Lady Tigers maintained a narrow 22-20 lead at half-time as Dillenbeck netted 6 in the second period. Dukes scored 10, including a pair of threes, during that stretch to keep the Lady Rams close.
The game was tied at 28-28 after low scoring third period. Dillenbeck scored 6 for the Lady Tigers and Owens 4 for the Lady Rams in the stanza.
Roy-Hart then put together a 9-1 run at the outset of the fourth quarter on baskets by Mettler, Aquilina, McOmber and a three by Owens to open up a 37-29 advantage.
However, Lyndonville came battling back closing the period with an 11-2 run to retie the contest at 39-39 and force overtime. Dillenbeck scored 9, including a three and the tying free throw with 10 seconds to go, to spearhead that rally.
Keeping the momentum, the Lady Tigers then outscored the Lady Rams 12-6 in the overtime period including making good on 10 of 14 free throw attempts to claim the slender win.
