Turning back a last inning rally, Lyndonville trimmed host Barker 6-4 in the Lady Tigers season opening non league softball game this afternoon.

Trailing 6-1, Barker rallied for three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning on RBI singles by Aaliyah Wheat, Peyton Bradley and Natalie Brandel but Lyndonville came up with a clutch double play from Brynn Howell to Lorelei Dillenbeck to Gracie Johnson to shut down the rally and lock up the win.

Lyndonville also got a key unassisted inning ending double play by Lorelei Dillenbeck in the sixth.

Breaking away from a 1-1 tie, Lyndonville regained the lead for good by scoring four times in the fifth inning on a two-run triple by Ella Lewis, an RBI single by Lorelei Dillenbeck and a wild pitch.

The Lady Tigers added what proved to be a big insurance run in the sixth inning on an RBI single by Johnson with two out. Johnson also tripled in the third inning and came home with the Lady Tigers first run on a fielders choice play off the bat of Addison Dillenbeck.

Addison Dillenbeck, Lorelei Dillenbeck, Johnson and Howell each finished with 2 hits.

Bradley had 3 hits and Brandel 2 for Barker.
