Four Lady Tigers earn tourney honors

The Lyndonville softball team has placed four players on the Section V Class D1 All-Tournament squad.

The Lady Tigers, which finished second in the Class D1 tourney, is represented by the quartet of junior pitcher Makenzie Muck, sophomore catcher Miranda Lembcke, junior shortstop Aubrey Lewis and senior third baseman Lisa Boyce.

The Lady Tigers honorees also include pitcher Makenzie Muck and shortstop Aubrey Lewis.

Appearing in the finals for the fourth straight year, the Lady Tigers dropped a narrow 7-6 decision to Genesee Region League rival Notre Dame in the D1 title contest.

Lyndonville had edged past Notre Dame twice during the G-R season by scores of 10-8 and 9-7 in route to earning a share of the Division II title with a 12-2 record.

The Lady Tigers, which finished with an overall record of 16-5, advanced to the finals by downing Wheatland-Chili 10-5 in the quarterfinals and Alfred-Almond 16-0 in the semifinals.
