Lady Tigers earn third G-R soccer victory; Kendall and Holley girls post wins
Jumping out to a 3-0 first half lead, Lyndonville/Medina went on to defeat host Pembroke 4-1 this afternoon for the Lady Tigers third Genesee Region League soccer win of the season.
Anna Lewis scored 2 goals for the Lady Tigers as Ella Lewis and Salena Austin each netted 1. Olivia Carter added 2 assists and Anna Lewis 1.
In other G-R action, Kendall bested host Byron-Bergen 3-1 to improve to 6-1 in the league and 7-3 overall.
Grace Levett scored 2 goals and Lizzy Woodams 1 for Kendall as Bri Wakefield added 2 assists and Madison Jacob 1.
Kate Pearson made 12 saves in goal for the Lady Eagles.
“It’s a huge win for us,” said Kendall Caoch Pam Barchett. “Everyone really stepped up. It was a total team effort.”
Holley also downed Oakfield-Alabama/Elba 7-2 in G-R action.
Halee Passarell scored 3 goals and Julia Smith 2 for the Lady Hawks as Olivia Radford and Rachel Killian each chipped in with 1.
Girls Volleyball
Akron 25-25-25, Medina 9-12-22
Defending champion Akron improved to 5-1 with a 25-9, 25-12, 25-22 Niagara-Orleans League victory over visiting Medina (2-3).
Je’ne Brown had 6 kills, Elle Gross 4 and Maddy Williams 3 for Medina as Brandi Guild added 10 digs and Divere Brown 9 assists.
Roy-Hart 27-25-26, Cheektowaga 25-23-24
Roy-Hart bested visiting Cheektowaga in three sets, two of which went into overtime, as Aspen Moore had 11 kills and 4 aces, Rebecca Jones 8 aces and 3 kills, Alyssa Kubas 3 kills, Emilia Peracciny 2 aces and 1 kill, Kristina Burdick 10 assists and Paige Dent 8 assists.
