Lady Tigers down Lady Rams in N-O finale

Akron closed out the Niagara-Orleans League girls basketball season with a 62-30 win over host Roy-Hart this evening.
Olivia Novak scored 17, Abby Gerstung 16 and Clara Bogdan 11 to lead the way for Akron. Lexie Ground and Marissa Brege both added 5, Kylie Mangione 4 and Cara Swader and Kenadee Jonathan 2 each for the Lady Tigers.
Adella Dukes led Roy-Hart with 14 as Mille Owens added 6, Kylie McOmber and Mackenzie Landers 4 each and Bella Rhinehart 2.
Akron jumped out to a 17-8 first quarter lead as Brege scored 5, Novak 4 and Ground and Bogdan both hit threes.
The Lady Tigers upped the advantage to 21, 32-11, at the half as Gerstung scored 7, including a three, and Novak 4 in the second period.
Akron finishes the N-O season at 9-3 and Roy-Hart at 6-6.
Final N-O Standings: Newfane 10-2, Wilson 10-2, Akron 9-3. Roy-Hart 6-6, Albion 4-8, Medina 3-9, Barker 0-12.
