Lady Tigers down Lady Hawks; Lady Rams split doubleheader to earn share of N-O title
Celebrating Senior Day in style, Lyndonville rolled to an 18-2 victory over visiting Holley this afternoon to improve to 9-1 in Genesee Region League softball competition.
Aubrey Lewis had 2 hits and 3 RBI’s for the Lady Tigers as Miranda Lembcke added 2 hits.
Lembcke, winning pitcher Makenzie Muck and Bri Paniccia each drove in a pair of runs. Muck and Anna Lewis both banged out doubles.
In another G-R contest, Kendall dropped an 11-6 decision to Byron-Bergen.
Madison Rath had a pair of hits including a double and 2 RBIs for Kendall as Kacey Menge added a two-run double and Chelsea Wright an RBI double.
Roy-Hart earns share of N-O title
A doubleheader split was good enough to earn Roy-Hart a share of the Niagara-Orleans League softball title.
Roy-Hart rebounded from a 9-7 loss to Akron to defeat Newfane 15-5 under the lights at Vets Park. That split leaves Roy-Hart and Akron sharing the N-O crown at 9-3 with Newfane just a half a game back at 8-3.
Newfane can earn a share of the title with a win over Medina in the Lady Panthers finale on Saturday. However, if Medina, which is currently at 7-3, can defeat Newfane and then down Barker on Monday, the Mustangs would claim a share of the crown.
Winning pitcher Sam Choate, Kayla Brown, Lexi Lovewell and Jayden Townsend each banged out 3 hits for Roy-Hart against Newfane.
Brown had a two-run homer to key a four-run first inning, Jamie Bower a two-run single to highlight a three-run third inning, Delaney Draper a two-run single in the fourth, Townsend a two-run double to key a three-run fifth and Lovewell a two-run single to highlight a three-run sixth.
