Scoring two quick first inning runs, Lyndonville went on to defeat visiting Kendall 5-1 this afternoon in a Genesee Region League softball game.

A triple by Maddy Boyle and a single by Jenna Castricone plated the first inning tallies for the Lady Tigers as a leadoff single by Rebekah Hoffee set up the threat.

Kendall did close the gap to 2-1 with a run in the top of the fourth on singles by Taylor Kingsbury, Olivia Welch and Kacey Menge. However, the Lady Eagles could not plate the equalizer.

Lyndonville got that run back with interest by scoring twice in the home half of the fourth on a fielders choice play off the bat of Kaity Albone and a wild pitch. Singles by winning pitcher Haley Wetherbee and Morgan Hungerford set up the opportunity.

The Lady Tigers added an insurance run in the fifth on a double by Boyle and an RBI sacrifice fly by Castricone.
