Making it two playoff wins in as many days, top seeded Lyndonville bested Genesee Region League foe No. 8 seed Notre Dame 10-1 in the quarterfinal round of the Section V Class D softball tournament this afternoon at Barker.

Lyndonville, which blanked Hinsdale 16-0 in the opening round on Friday evening, wasted no time in taking the lead for good by erupting for four quick runs in the first inning. Hannah Fox, Alexa Robinson and Braelynn Dillenbeck all had RBI singles in the frame as an error plated the other run.

Lyndonville tacked on one run in the second inning on an RBI double by Fox and then broke the game open with three more tallies in the fourth to go up 8-1. Fox and Isabella Groves both had RBI singles and Emma Freas a run producing sacrifice fly during that uprising. An error and a single by Addison Dillenbeck set up the threat.

The Lady Tigers closed out the scoring with a pair of runs in the fifth frame on a double by Fox and a single by Alexa Robinson.

Fox finished with 4 hits, Alexa Robinson 3 and Addison Dillenbeck 2.

Arnie Sturtevant earned the win in the circle giving up only 4 hits and striking out 7.

Lyndonville also downed Notre Dame twice during the G-R season by scores of 4-1 and 8-1.

Improving to 19-2, the Lady Tigers will next face the winner of the No. 12 Andover-Whitesville vs. No. 4 Fillmore quarterfinal in the semifinals on Thursday.
