Lady Tigers claim G-R Div. 2 volleyball title

Lyndonville scored a straight set 25-23, 25-19, 25-16 victory over Oakfield-Alabama this evening to lock up the Genesee Region League Division 2 volleyball championship.

Gracie Johnson had 5 kills and 4 digs, Lorelei Dillenbeck 2 aces, 6 kills and 2 blocks, Ashlee Stephens 7 aces, 3 kills and 3 blocks, Addison Dillenbeck 6 aces, 3 kills and 7 digs, Brianna Smith 2 aces and 2 digs and Haley Shaffer 9 digs for the Lady Tigers.

In other G-R contests Elba downed Kendall 25-20, 26-24, 26-24 as Rachel Walls had 5 kills and 3 aces and Laci Sewar 3 aces and 2 kills. Alexander also outlasted Holley 25-21, 23-25, 23-25, 24-23, 25-12. Arianna Botello had 7 aces, 5 kills, 11 assists, 24 digs, Tia Hoffarth 6 blocks, 3 aces and Grace McKeon 7 kills for Holley.

Field Hockey
The pairings have been set for Monday’s quarterfinal round of the Section VI Class C volleyball playoffs.

No. 3 seed Medina will host No. 6 Eden at 6:30 p.m. and No. 4 Roy-Hart will entertain No. 5 Newfane.

The Medina/Eden winner will face No. 2 Barker and the Roy-Hart/Newfane winner will take on No. 1 Akron in a semifinal doubleheader at Williamsville North next Thursday.
