Lady Tigers and Lady Hawks drop sectional openers to G-R League foes

In a matchup of Genesee Region League foes, No. 6 seed Notre Dame trimmed visiting No. 11 Lyndonville 31-26 in a Class D opener this evening.

Breaking away from a 20-20 tie at the end of the third period, Notre Dame outscored Lyndonville 11-6 in the decisive final quarter to claim the win.

Emma Sisson scored 5 of her 13 points and Sophia Falleti 6 of her 8 in the final period for the Irish.

Lyndonville had outscored Notre Dame 11-7 in the third period to pull into the 20-20 tie as Bella Groves scored all 8 of her points during that stretch.

Addison Dillenbeck added 7 and Ashlee Stephens 6 on the evening for Lyndonville.

Byron-Bergen 50, Holley 27
In a Class C1 opening round matchup of G-R foes, No. 5 Byron-Bergen downed visiting No. 12 Holley 50-27.

Janessa Amesbury poured in a game high 28 points to spark Byron-Bergen which led 25-10 at the half.

Alivia Wolf scored 11 and Samantha Bates 6 for Holley.

Pembroke 56, Red Creek 40
No. 7 Pembroke ousted No. 10 Red Creek 56-40 in another Class C1 opener.

Seneca Calderon scored 15 and Elle Peterson 11 to lead a balanced attack for Pembroke which was up 30-11 at the half.
