Lady Rams win to hold share of N-O lead

Maintaining a share of first place, Roy-Hart downed host Newfane 4-0 this afternoon in a Niagara-Orleans League girls soccer game on the Lady Panthers new turf field.

Roy-Hart is now 8-1 in N-O action and deadlocked for first place with Wilson which defeated Albion 7-0. Thursday’s N-O season finales will now have Roy-Hart at Medina and Wilson at Akron.

Roy-Hart took a narrow 1-0 first half lead on a penalty kick goal by Kaitlin Mettler.

The Lady Rams then pulled away in the second half on two goals by Mettler and one by Grace Trombley as Nadia White and Kaylie Churchill earned assists.

Newfane is now 3-5-1.

In the other N-O game, Akron (5-3-1) shutout Medina (1-8) 8-0 at Vets Park.

N-O Volleyball

Avenging an earlier season loss, Roy-Hart defeated visiting Newfane 25-18, 29-27, 16-25, 25-17 this evening leaving both teams at 6-3 in N-O action.
