Lady Rams top Fredonia in Class B opener
A pair of first half goals proved to be more than enough as No. 3 seed Roy-Hart blanked visiting No. 14 Fredonia 2-0 this evening in the opening round of the Section VI Class B girls soccer playoffs.
Allie Trombley and Maria Trombley took turns scoring the first half goals for the Lady Rams which will next host Niagara-Orleans League foe Newfane in the quarterfinals on Friday.
No. 11 seed Newfane shutout No. 6 Olmsted 7-0 as Anna Chunco scored 3 goals and Sieanna Allen 2.
In another Class B opener, No. 5 Akron downed No. 12 Salamanca 7-0 as Abby Gerstung had 3 goals and 2 assists and Lorelei Priebe 2 goals.

Akron romps; Medina delayed
Undefeated (11-0) Akron, which has already locked up a fifth straight Niagara-Orleans League field hockey title, downed host Newfane 6-0 this afternoon as Morgan Tomporowski had 3 goals and Mackenzie Tomporowski, Averi Monkelbaan and Alexis Salmon 1 each.
The Wilson at Medina game was halted midway through the first quarter by lightning. The game will be resumed at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at Vets Park.
