Lady Rams romp in B2 playoff opener

Steadily pulling away No. 8 seed Roy-Hart rolled to a 37-21 victory over visiting No. 9 Cleveland Hill in a Section VI Class B2 girls basketball pre-quarterfinal round game this evening.

Adella Dukes scored a game high 20 points to lead the way for Roy-Hart.  Millie Owens added 6, Lila Brigham, Madison DiNieri and Juliana Terwilliger 3 and Macie Sidor 2.

Lauryn Patterson led Cleve Hill with 7.

Roy-Hart jumped out to an 11-0 first quarter lead as Owens and Dukes each had a pair of baskets and DiNieri a three.

The Lady Rams upped the lead to 21-5 at the half as Cleve Hill went the first 15 minutes without a basket. Dukes had two baskets and Terwilliger a three in the period.

The Roy-Hart advantage soared to 22, 33-11, at the end of the third quarter as Dukes erupted for 10 in the period.

Roy-Hart next visits top seeded Niagara-Orleans League champion Wilson in the quarterfinals at 7 p.m. Friday. Wilson downed Roy-Hart twice during the N-O season by scores of 70-26 and 58-28.

Fredonia 68, Medina 29
No 8 Fredonia downed visiting No. 9 Medina 68-29 in a Class B1 pre-quarterfinal.

A big 16-0 scoring burst to close the first half keyed the win for Fredonia. Ashlynn Delcamp scored all 16 points during that key run which vaulted Fredonia out to a 31-17 half-time advantage.

Alexa Demmer led Medina with 12 as Honesty Hill added 5 and Iyla Lilleby and Angel Mulcahy 4 each.
