Lady Rams roll past Purple Eagles

Photos by Cheryl Wertman – Roy-Hart’s Peyton May slides safely into home as Albion pitcher Alana Irvine tries for the tag. The action took place during the Lady Rams win over the visiting Purple Eagles this afternoon.

Scoring in every inning, Roy-Hart rolled to a 16-4 win over visiting Albion in a Niagara-Orleans League softball game this afternoon.

Brooke Corser had 3 hits and Peyton May, Millie Owens, Kaitlin Mettler and winning pitcher Abby Fox each had 2 to lead the offense for Roy-Hart which improves to 3-1 in N-O action.

After scoring solo runs in each of the first two innings, Roy-Hart upped its advantage to 5-1 by scoring three times in the third frame sparked by a double by Mettler and singles by Owens and Fox.

Albion answered with a pair of runs in the top of the fourth keyed by hits by Kenzi Snook, Cami London and Lux Froman to cut the deficit to 5-3. However, the Purple Eagles could get no closer. Snook and Froman both had two hits on the day.

The Lady Rams answered with six runs in the home half of the frame to break the contest open. Corser, Mettler, May and Olivia Marsillo all had hits in the inning which upped the lead to 11-3.

Roy-Hart tacked on four runs in the fifth to increase the advantage to 15-4 as Owens had a two run single, Fox an RBI double and Corser a double.

The loss drops Albion to 2-2 in N-O competition.
