Lady Rams rally late to lock up N-O title

Roy-Hart rallied in the bottom of the seventh inning to nip visiting Barker 8-7 this afternoon and lock up the Niagara-Orleans League softball championship.

The Lady Rams scored twice in the bottom of the seventh inning on RBI hits by Maria Peracciny and Lila Brigham to improve to 10-0 on the season and claim a third N-O title in the last five years. The rally also included a key bunt single by Hayley Hilburn.

Roy-Hart now holds a three game lead with just two games remaining.

Barker had rallied into a 7-6 lead by scoring once in the sixth on a home run by Samantha Murphy and once in the top of the seventh on a double by Peyton Bradley.

Lily Monthony also had 3 hits, including a home run, on the day for Barker.

Reanna Perkins had a two-run homer for Roy-Hart which also got a pair of hits from Hilburn, Kaitlin Mettler and Juliana Buscarino.

Barker is now 5-3.

In another N-O game, Akron defeated Newfane 15-10.

G-R Baseball

Holley 11, Byron-Bergen 10

Holley scored a run in the seventh inning on an RBI single by Broek Ostrom to nip Byron-Bergen 11-10 in a Genesee Region League game. The late rally was also aided by hits by Kalen Brady and Brenden Trowbridge.

Ostrom finished with a total of 5 hits as Brady and Trowbridge each had 3 and Miles Lammes 2.

N-O Tennis
Albion wins season finale
Albion trimmed Newfane 3-2 this afternoon to finish the N-O season at 7-5.

The Purple Eagles claimed the win on singles wins by the trio of Carson Bader, Leo Bolton and James Beach.

Albion also completed a 3-2 win over Newfane from a match suspended earlier in the season.

In that match the Purple Eagles got wins from Bolton at second singles, Beach at third singles and by the second doubles team of Emily Graham – Aiden Miller.

In a Genesee Region League match, Oakfield-Alabama defeated Kendall 4-1.

Golf

Holley defeats Pembroke

Holley defeated Pembroke 234-243 in a G-R golf match today.

Gavin Baney and Lance Babcock shared medalist honors for the Hawks with rounds of 47.

Lacrosse
Eden tops Medina
Building up a 10-2 half-time advantage, Eden went on to defeat visiting Medina 21-2 this evening in a non league lacrosse game.

Josh Wilson and Cayden Lilleby each scored a goal for Medina which next visits Gowanda on Thursday.
