Bolstered by the return of a large contingent of eight veteran players and with new Coach Grace Swick at the helm, the Roy-Hart girls varsity basketball team is prepping for the Lady Rams upcoming season opening tournament.
Swick, a Roy-Hart graduate who has coached the JV team the last couple of years, takes over the varsity helm from Don Baker who guided the Lady Rams for over 20 years.

“I’m definitely excited,” said Swick. “We have a lot of returning players with varsity experience which is a huge bonus and I coached them at the JV level so I know their strengths.”

The Lady Rams veteran group includes seniors Ava Bligh, Rielly Albee and Alyssa Hess; juniors Ellie Todd, Delaney Draper, Maddy Glena and Skyler Christopher and sophomore Maddie Fry.

Roy-Hart’s graduation losses include Emma Lindke, Rachael Rausch, Sarah Bascom and Sarah Duewiger.

The Lady Rams will face Lyndonville in the opening round of the Roy-Hart Tournament on December 2 and will begin Niagara-Orleans League competition at home against Newfane on December 16.
