Lady Rams face key soccer title test this week

Highlighting the upcoming week’s area high school sports schedule will be Wednesday’s Roy-Hart (6-1-1) at Akron (8-1) girls soccer game which will determine the Niagara-Orleans League championship.
The contest will be the N-O finale for the Lady Tigers while the Lady Rams still have a home makeup game to play against Barker (0-7) on Thursday.
Roy-Hart, which is seeking its first N-O title dropped a narrow 2-1 overtime decision to Akron earlier in the season. Akron, which has finished in the runner-up spot five of the last seven years, last claimed the N-O title in 2011.
In N-O field hockey, defending champion Barker (8-0) will look to clinch at least a tie for the title with a win at runner-up Akron (6-2) on Tuesday. A win would give the Lady Raiders a three game lead with just three games to play.
In N-O boys soccer, Medina/Lyndonville (6-1) will host rival Albion (3-4-1) at 7 p.m. Thursday. The Mustangs are currently tied with Roy-Hart (6-1) for the N-O lead.
The annual N-O All-League golf tournament has been rescheduled for Wednesday at Willowbrook. Defending champion Medina brings a 12-0 regular season record and has a three match lead over runner-up Wilson (9-3) heading into the title deciding tournament.
On the football field Friday Medina/Lyndonville/Barker will visit Akron for an interdivisional game and Holley will travel to Frewsburg for an 8 Man contest, both at 7 p.m. On Saturday afternoon, undefeated Albion (5-0), which has already captured the B3 Division title, visits Amherst at 2 p.m. for an interdivisional game and Roy-Hart travels to JFK at 1:30 p.m. for a C North Division contest.
