Lady Rams edge Mustangs

Photo by Cheryl Wertman – Becky Harnish scored a game high 21 points for Roy-Hart in the host Lady Rams win over Medina Friday night.

Snapping a five game losing streak, Roy-Hart used a fourth quarter rally to nip visiting Medina 43-38 Friday night in a Niagara-Orleans League girls basketball game.

Becky Harnish had a game high 21 points and 11 rebounds to lead the way for Roy-Hart.

Kendra Hill added 8 points, Taylor Fry 6 and Rielly Albee, Morgan Jones, Emma Lindke and Samatha Steves two each for the Lady Rams.

De’Andrea Salone netted 12 and Nicole Blount 11 for Medina which also had Taylor Miller with 6 and Molley Gross, Emma Ambrose and Madeline Winters each with 3.

Medina held narrow leads of 9-8 after one quarter, 17-16 at the half and 29-27 at the three-quarter mark before Roy-Hart put together a 16-9 scoring burst down the stretch to rally for the win.

Harnish had 6 and Hill 4 during the Lady Rams decisive stretch run which also included a key bucket by Steves and clutch late free throws by Albee and Lindke.

A bucket by Salone and a three by Ambrose kept Medina close down the stretch.

Roy-Hart is now 2-7 and Medina 1-8 in N-O action.

Elba 68, Lyndonville 30
Putting together a big 25-9 second quarter scoring surge, Elba built up a commanding 43-16 half-time advantage in route to posting a 68-30 victory over Lyndonville Thursday in a Genesee Region League game.

Autumn Nesbitt led Lyndonville’s scorers with 9 points.
