Akron tops Medina to clinch tie for title

Scoring in five different innings, Roy-Hart posted a 14-5 victory over host Albion this afternoon in a Niagara-Orleans League softball game.

Leading by a narrow 7-4 margin, Roy-Hart pulled away by scoring 5 times in the fifth frame highlighted by a two-run triple by winning pitcher Lexie Lovewell and a two-run single by Delaney Draper.

Kayla Brown had a total of four hits, including a triple, for the Lady Rams as Rachael Rausch had 3 and Lovewell 2.

Natalie DiCureia had 2 hits and Olivia Prest a triple for Albion.

Roy-Hart improves to 9-3 and Albion slips to 6-6.

Akron 12, Medina 1
Akron clinched at least a tie for the N-O title by downing Medina 12-1 at Vets Park.

Mattie Klein registered 9 strikeouts in the circle for Akron which improves to 11-1.

Davina Birch had a pair of hits for Medina which is now 7-4.

Wilson 14, CSAT 3
Lauren Couturier and Jen Darlak both had 4 hits and 2 RBIs to lead Wilson (3-8) to a 14-3 victory over CSAT (0-12).
