Lady Rams bow in tournament finale

Roy-Hart’s Ellie Todd puts up a shot against Oakfield-Alabama defender Lakin Woodward during the host Lady Rams tournament title loss to the Lady Hornets this afternoon.

Racing out to a commanding 21 point first quarter lead, Oakfield-Alabama went on to defeat the host Lady Rams 76-19 this afternoon in the championship game of the Roy-Hart girls basketball Tournament.

Makayla Hilchey scored 7 and Brianna Smith 6 to help spark Oakfield-Alabama out to a 23-2 first quarter lead.

Keeping the momentum, the Lady Hornets went on to lead by 33 (41-8) at the half and by 43 (60-17) at the three-quarter mark. Hilchey and Kylie Schlagenhauf both scored 6 in the second quarter.

Hilchey finished with a game high 23 points as Smith added 12, Schlagenhauf 12, Lakin Woodward 9 and Shelby Carlson 6.

Ellie Todd and Ashley Hill both scored 6 to lead Roy-Hart.
