Lady Raiders upend Purple Eagles

A big seven run second inning ignited Barker to a 14-6 victory over visiting Albion this afternoon in a Niagara-Orleans League softball game.

Mary Rounds had a two-run double and Sabrina Harris a two-run single to key the decisive inning.

Rounds, Harris and Emily Annable each had a pair of hits on the day for the Lady Raiders. Harris drove in a total of 4 runs.

Haylee Muzzillo earned the win in the circle for the Lady Raiders scattering 6 hits over the first five innings. Erika Moeller hurled the final two frames striking out 4.

Natalie DiCureia had a home run and a single, Meghan Hurley a double and single and Olivia Prest a pair of singles for Albion.

Barker is now 2-3 and Albion 3-2 in N-O action.

In the other N-O games, front-running Akron (5-0) defeated Wilson (1-4) 23-4 and Newfane (3-2) blanked CSAT (0-4) 24-0. Olivia Littman had a home run and Katie Kneeland a triple for Newfane.
