BARKER – Six veterans anchor the lineup for Barker as the Lady Raiders prep for the Dec. 2 non league season opener at home against Kendall.

Seniors Olivia Denny and Julia Atwater and sophomore Caitlyn Mason head that veteran contingent which also includes senior Brooke Bodine and juniors Gabby Clare and Maicie Baker.

The Lady Raiders are also counting on the junior trio of Morgan Brown, Melissa Grosshans and Kelsi Flegal.

“We’ve got a decent core group with good varsity experience,” said Coach Jeff Costello. “We’ve got a lot of speed and quickness so we’re going to try to get out and run a bit. We look to be pretty strong defensively. Scoring will be the key for us.”

Barker, which went 4-10 in Niagara-Orleans action and 6-13 overall last year, will open the league campaign at home against Newfane on Dec. 13.
