Lady Raiders late surge downs Mustangs

A big fourth quarter scoring surge powered Barker to a 39-25 victory over host Medina in a Niagara-Orleans League game this evening.

Trailing by four, 23-19, after three quarters, Barker erupted for a big 20-2 scoring edge in the final stanza to claim the win.

Sydnie Luckman scored 8, including a three, to lead the Lady Raiders big stretch run which also included two threes by Courtney Hillman and four points by Serena Harris.

Luckman finished with a total of 16 points, Harris and Hillman 6, Kylie Annable 5, Sarah Outten 4 and Dakota Leising 2.

Janiyah Holloway scored 7 to lead Medina as Anya Bloom and Sarah Sones both had 6, Faith Ann Vanderwalker 4 and Nodia Osby 2.

Medina held narrow leads of 11-10 after one period and 15-12 at the half.  Holloway had 5 points and Bloom and Sones 4 each for the Mustangs during that stretch.

Barker is now 2-5 and Medina 0-7 in N-O action.

In another N-O game, front-running Wilson (7-0) defeated Akron (2-5) 54-33.
