Lady Raiders best Mustangs

Taking charge at the outset with three goals in the first 15 minutes, defending champion Barker went on to defeat visiting Medina 13-0 this afternoon to stay perfect at 6-0 in Niagara-Orleans League field hockey competition.

Gabby Clare scored two goals and Melissa Grosshans one during Barker’s early uprising.

Keeping the momentum, the Lady Raiders added four more goals over the next eight minutes to open up a commanding 7-0 advantage at the half. Lydia Dewart scored two goals and Clare and Becky Stoloski each added one.

Six different players then each scored a goal for the Lady Raiders in the second half. Clare netted her fourth of the game and Dewart completed her hat-trick during that stretch which also included tallies by Grosshans, Madison Greenwald, Erin Greenwald and Liz Luckman.

The loss drops Medina to 0-6.

Akron 1, Wilson 0
Runner-up Akron improved to 5-1 by scoring a narrow 1-0 decision over host Wilson (3-2).

A late first half goal by Abby Stone proved the margin of victory for the Lady Tigers.

Roy-Hart 2, Buffalo Seminary 1
Sam Gordon and Kelsey Eldridge each scored a goal to spark Roy-Hart to a 2-1 non league win over Buffalo Seminary.

Kenmore 3, Newfane 2
Kenmore evened its N-O record at 3-3 with a 3-2 win at Newfane (2-3).

Lydia Garaughn and Brenna Sheehan each scored a goal for Newfane.
