Lady Lancers top Lady Tigers

Taking charge with a big second quarter scoring surge, Elba went on to defeat host Lyndonville 54-38 this evening in a Genesee Region League girls basketball game.
Lyndonville pulled to within a point at 6-5 on a rebound basket by Jasmine Plummer at the outset of the second period.
However, Elba countered with a decisive 18-3 run over the rest of the period to open up a commanding 24-8 lead at the half.
Back-to-back threes by Carli Bogue ignited the Lady Lancers uprising which also included a pair of baskets by Madison Howard.
Elba extended its advantage to as much as 26 at 34-8 by opening the third period with a 10-0 run, including 7 by Emily Reynolds.

Lyndonville did come battling back with a 16-4 run highlighted by three threes by Aubrey Lewis and a pair of layups by Makenzie Muck but Elba mantained a 17 point, 41-24, advantage at the three-quarter mark.
Reynolds finished with a game high 23 points for the Lady Lancers as Howard added 12, Bogue 9, Tarra Shuknecht 4 and Maddie Muehlig, Tatianna Draper and Meaghan Kogut 2 each.
Aubrey Lewis had 13, Plummer 11 and Muck 8 for the Lady Tigers as Buckland netted 2, Anna Lewis 2 and Miranda Lembcke 1.
Lyndonville next hosts Holley on December 29.
