Lady Lancers down Lady Tigers in opener

Led by a trio of double figure scorers, Elba downed host Lyndonville 55-36 this evening in the Genesee Region League girls basketball season opener.
Sydney Reilly scored a game high 17, Lydia Ross 15 and Mariah Ognibene 10 for Elba as Madalyn Hall added 8, Brea Smith 3 and Ava Burzek 2.
Addison Dillenbeck led Lyndonville with 12. Ashlee Stephens added 6, Bella Groves 5, Alexa Robinson and Lilly Raduns 4, Katelynn Breeze 3 and Kayli Miller 2 for the Lady Tigers.
Trailing 12-10 after the first quarter, Lyndonville pulled even three times early in the second period but could not take the lead. Elba answered with a key 9-0 run to close the period and regain the lead for good by a 25-16 margin at the half. The Lady Lancers upped the advantage to 14, 46-32, at the three-quarter mark.
