Lady Hornets roll past Mustangs

Building up a commanding 22 point half-time advantage, Oakfield-Alabama coasted to a 50-21 victory over visiting Medina this evening in a non league game.
Stymied by combination of turnovers and cold shooting, Medina fell behind by margins of 12-2 after one quarter and 28-6 at the half as the Mustangs went the game’s first seven minutes before scoring.
Able to manage just one field goal in each of the first two quarters, the Mustangs were only 1 of 12 from the field with 6 turnovers in the opening period and 1 of 10 with 8 turnovers in the second stanza.
Oakfield-Alabama, which led 36-12 after three periods, was up by as much as 30 at 47-16 in the final stanza.

Kylie Schlagenhauf scored 13 and Lauren Reding and Hannah Dunlap 11 apiece to lead the way for the Lady Hornets. Dunlap made three layups in the opening period to get the Lady Hornets off and rolling as six players contributed points in the second stanza.
Molley Gross scored 6, Holly Heil 4, Maddie Winters and Davina Birch 3 each, Emily Kams and Courtney Albone 2 each and Nicole Blount 1 for the Mustangs.
Now at 1-4, Medina next visits Barker January 6 in a Niagara-Orleans League game.
