Lady Hornets roll past Mustangs; Lady Rams score tournament opening victory

Taking charge in the second quarter, Oakfield-Alabama went on to defeat host Medina 51-28 this evening in a non league girls basketball game.

Leading 13-9 after one period, Oakfield-Alabama outpointed Medina 13-1 in the decisive second quarter to open up a 16 point, 26-10, advantage at the half.  Brianna Smith and Makayla Hilchey both had a pair of baskets and Kylie Schlagenhauf hit a three to lead that surge.

The Lady Hornets extended the advantage to 21, 39-18, at the three-quarter mark as Hilchey and Lauren Reding both had two baskets and Smith a three-point play in the third period.

Hilchey finished with 14, Schlagenhauf 12 and Smith 10 to lead the Lady Hornets as Danica Porter added 6, Reding 4, Lakin Woodward and Shelby Carlsen 2 and Lizzy Toal 1.

Camri King and Brianna MacFarland both had 5, Je’ne Brown, Maddie Williams and Maleyah Brewer 4, Kharise Johnson 3, Sarah Cochrane 2 and Divere Brown 1 for Medina which slips to 1-6.

Roy-Hart 51, CSAT 41
Featuring a balanced attack, Roy-Hart bested CSAT 51-41 in the opening round of the Tonawanda Tournament.

Ellie Todd and Maddie Fry both scored 12 to lead Roy-Hart as Skyler Christopher added 10 and Meghan Washington 9 to go along with 12 rebounds.

RAC 58, Barker 37
Jumping out to a 21-12 half-time advantage, Rochester Academy Charter went on to defeat Barker 58-37 in the opening round of the Pembroke Tournament.

Sydnie Luckman led Barker with 11 as Gabby Baker had 9, Dakota Leising 6 and Serena Harris and Haley Brown 5.
