Lady Hornets post win over Lady Tigers
Improving to 10-1, Oakfield-Alabama downed visiting Lyndonvile 49-40 in a Genesee Region League girls basketball game this evening.
Leading by a narrow 35-33 margin at the three-quarter mark, the Lady Hornets outscored the Lady Tigers 16-5 in the decisive final period to claim the win.
Caitlin Ryan scored 6 of her 16 points and Alea Groff 6 of her 10 in the decisive final period for the Lady Hornets.
Addie Dillenbeck scored 18, Lorelei Dillenbeck 9 and Ashlee Stephens 8 to lead Lyndonville. Lorelei Dillenbeck also grabbed off 9 rebounds and Stephens 8.
Addie Dillenbeck scored 9 and Lorelei Dillenbeck 5 in the third period to pull the Lady Tigers within two at 35-33 after Lyndonville had trailed 22-17 at the half.
Lyndonville is now 8-4.
In another G-R contest, Elba downed Kendall 47-12.
