Lady Hawks top Lady Tigers to earn first victory

Snapping a season long 10 game losing streak, Holley bested Lyndonville 27-16 this evening in a Genesee Region League girls basketball game.

Nicole Blackburn scored all 10 of her points in the first period to put Holley on top to stay at 10-2.

Two buckets by Jade Underwood in the second quarter helped up the Lady Hawks lead to 18-5 at the half.

Lyndonville stayed within 10, 20-10, at the three-quarter mark after a pair of third period baskets by Gabby Dusett.

Two baskets by Austumn Nesbitt then pulled Lyndonville to within seven, 21-14 in the fourth period but the Lady Tigers could get no closer.

Holley put a lock on the victory on four free throws by Samantha Barniak and one each by Underwood and Nikki Mauro. Barniak finished with 7 points and Underwood 5.

Dusett finished with 6 points for Lyndonville as Nesbitt and Chelsea Poler each had 4.

The loss drops Lyndonville to 2-8.

Notre Dame 74, Kendall 34
Tania Arellano had 9 points and 5 rebounds and Toni ReQua 6 points and 6 rebounds for Kendall in the 74-34 G-R loss to visiting Notre Dame.
