Lady Hawks to host season opening tourney

Holley will tune up for the upcoming Genesee Region League girls soccer campaign by hosting the Hawks annual tournament this coming Thursday and Saturday.

Thursday’s opening round will have Albion vs. Honeoye at 4:30 p.m. foliowed by Holley vs. Midlakes. The consolation and championship  games will be Saturday.

Leading Holley into the season will be the veteran group of seniors Olivia Radford (Forward), Sarah Harrington (Midfield), Sierra Apicella (Defender) and Rachel Killian (Defender) along with juniors Kayleigh Neale (Defender), Ally Lyndaker (Midfield), Halee Passarell (Midfield/Forward) and Allyson Skehan. The Hawks lineup also includes exchange student Milla Steenholdt.

Passarell scored 14 goals and Radford 9 last year.

“We’ve got a big group back and we’re looking for a good season,” said Coach Renee Wolf.

Holley, which went 6-4-3 in the league and 10-6-3 overall last season, will open the G-R season at Byron-Bergen on September 5.
