Lady Hawks romp in C1 sectional opener

Exploding out to a 5-0 first half lead, No. 4 seed Holley went on to defeat visiting No. 13 Sodus 7-0 this evening in a Section V Class C1 girls soccer pre-quarterfinal.

Hayley Skidmore ignited Holley’s decisive uprising with a goal at 26:36 of the first half off an assist from Amya Cancino.

Kayleigh Neale followed up with a pair of goals at 18:30 ad 11:27 as Cancino assisted on the first.

Samantha Bates then scored at the nine minute mark and Skidmore tallied again from Neale at 3:53 to make it 5-0 at the half.

Bates and Skidmore also each scored a goal in the second half. Allison Lyndaker earned the assist on Bates. goal.

Now at 11-1-2, Holley will next host the winner of Wednesday’s No. 12 Perry vs. No. 5 Bishop Kearney contest in the quarterfinals at 6 p.m. Friday.

Class B1

Host Wayne defeated Lyndonville/Medina 7-0 in a Class B1 pre quarterfinal contest.
