Lady Hawks open C1 title defense with shutout

Fifth seeded Holley opened defense of its Section V Class C1 girls soccer title with a 5-0 victory over visiting No. 12 Sodus this evening.

The Lady Hawks grabbed a 2-0 first half lead on goals by Alivia Wolf and Zoey Wolf.

Holley then locked up the win on three second half goals by Alivia Wolf.

Hanna Ostrom had 3 assists and Carsyn Mogle and Alexia Renner 1 for the Lady Hawks as Jayda Shampine made 2 saves to earn the shutout in goal.

Improving to 12-4-1, Holley will next visit No. 4 Red Creek in the quarterfinals on Friday. Red Creek edged No. 13 Lyndonville/Barker 1-0.
