Lady Hawks edge past rival Lady Eagles and Lady Tigers earn tie in G-R soccer

A lone early goal proved to be just enough to earn Holley a narrow 1-0 victory over rival Kendall in a Genesee Region League girls soccer game this evening at Kendall.
Sierra Apicella scored the only goal the Lady Hawks needed as it turned out just six minutes into the game off an assist from Halee Passarell.

Holley’s Halee Passarell and Kendall’s Hailee Mitchell battle for control of the ball.
Kendall did have good scoring chances but had one shot rattle off the inside of the post 15 minutes into the first half and later couldn’t connect on a direct kick opportunity from 20 yards out 15 minutes into the second half.
Leah Rheinwald made seven saves to get the shutout in goal for the Lady Hawks.

Holley is now 5-2-2 in G-R action and 7-3-2 overall while Kendall is 7-2 and 10-2 overall.
Holley next visits Lyndonville/Medina at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at Lyndonville while Kendall hosts Alexander at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Lyndonville/Medina earned a 1-1 tie with Alexander in a G-R contest at Lyndonville.
Ella Lewis scored the lone goal for the Lady Tigers off an assist from Miranda Zelazny.
Newfane 6, Barker 0
Newfane (2-5-1) downed Barker (0-8) 6-0 in a Niagara-Orleans League game on goals by Cameron Cain, Cora Harding, Taylor Heschke, Rachel Chunco, Sophia Tronolone ans Angelina DiTulio.
