Lady Hawks celebrate sectional title win
Contributed Photo – Holley players and coaches proudly display the trophy and medals they received after capturing the Section V Class C 1 soccer championship with a 2-1 win over Williamson on Friday ending a nearly 30 year long postseason title drought. The Lady Hawks will next face Genesee Region League foe Byron-Bergen for the Section V Class C berth in the state playoffs on Wednesday at a site and time to be announced. The sectional title is the first for Holley since 1994. Senior members of the Holley team include Layne Walker, Bella Thom, Samantha Bates, Alyssa Wright, Jailyn Bishop, Ryleigh Weader, Emma Brady, Leigha Walker, Teanna Church, Jasmine Apicella and Caitlin Dobri. The juniors include Mackenzie Fiorito, Natalie Foose, Alexia Renner, Alivia Wolf, Zoey Wolf, and Kylee Dann. Sophomores include Lily Newman and Ella Turpyn. Rounding out the team are freshman Mia Thom along with eighth graders Hanna Ostrom, Kyla Burne, Brynn Thomas and Jayna Burris. The Lady Hawks are coached by Renee Wolf who is assisted by Amy Ostrom and Stephany McBride.
