Lady Falcons post win over Mustangs

Building up a 15 point half-time advantage, Niagara-Wheatfield went on to defeat host Medina 44-26 in a non league girls basketball game this afternoon.

Up 13-9 after one quarter, N-W used a 15-4 second period scoring edge to ope up a 15 point, 28-13 lead at the half. Two threes by Jenna Bailey and one by Sydney Crangle highlighted that uprising.

The Lady Falcons maintained an 18 point, 41-23, lead at the three-quarter mark.

LeGary Jackson and Corin Loughrey both scored 10, Bailey 9 and Avery Carpenter 8 to the Lady Falcons.

Camri King led Medina with 9 as Maddie Williams had 5, Kharise Johnson 3 and Sarah Cochrane, Tyesha Robinson and Gracie Hughes 2 each.

Medina next hosts Tonawanda at 12:30 p.m. Monday.

Clarence 84, Roy-Hart 41
Racing out to a 49-22 half-time advantage, Clarence went on to defeat Roy-Hart 84-41 in the championship game of the Tonawanda Tournament.

Maddie Fry had 12, Meghan Washington 10 and Ashley Hill 9 for Roy-Hart.

In the consolation game of the Pembroke Tournament, Barker dropped a 50-40 decision to Pavilion and in the championship game of the Depew Tournament, Newfane lost 70-27 to Iroquois.

In a Genesee Region League game, Notre Dame defeated Lyndonville 57-32.
