Lady Eagles win in 8; Lady Tigers romp
Kendall rallied late to nip Elba 2-1 in 8 innings in a Genesee Region League softball game this afternoon.
Trailing 1-0, Kendall tied the game in the seventh as Grace Robinson singled and came home on a two out double by Ciera Kupferschmid.
The Lady Eagles then scored the game winner in the top of the eighth as Lauren Pilon doubled and came home on a single by Shelby Kruger.
Elba did get the bases loaded in the bottom of the eighth but Kendall got out of the jam with a huge defense play. Julie Coble caught a fly ball in centerfield and threw to second to double off an Elba runner completing the clutch the game ending double play.
Sara Mattle picked up the win in the circle allowing 4 hits and striking out 5.
Lyndonville 20, Wheatland-Chili 0
Lorelei Dillenbeck pitched a one hitter with 4 strikeouts as Lyndonville bested host Wheatland-Chili 20-0 to improve to 12-1 in G-R competition.
At the plate for the Lady Tigers, Gracie Johnson had 3 hits and Dillenbeck and Haley Shaffer 2 each. Johnson, Dillenbeck, Brooke Robinson and Lena Newman all had doubles.
In another G-R contest, Attica defeated Holley 18-2.
