Lady Eagles post shutout in G-R soccer opener

A quick goal in the first four minutes ignited Kendall to a 3-0 victory over visiting Oakfield-Alabama/Elba this afternoon in the Genesee Region League girls soccer season opener.

Madison Jacob scored what proved to be the game winner for the Lady Eagles just 4:01 into the game off an assist from Brianna Wakefield .

Kailie Regan then doubled Kendall’s advantage with a goal on a line drive shot just 12 minutes later.

Kendall goalie Katie Pearson made two big diving saves in the first 10 minutes of the second half to help preserve the shutout.

Lizzy Woodams scored the Lady Eagles final goal at the 31 minute mark of the second half on a rebound shot as Grace Levett earned the assist.

“It was a good way to start the season,” said Kendall Coach Pam Barchet.

The Lady Eagles will next face Albion at 7 p.m. on September 5 in the opening round of the Kendall Tournament.  York will take on Bishop Kearney in the other semifinal.
